Art League RI invites you to join us for the first speaker event in the S=P=A=C=E Speaker Series. Keith Prue presents: Inside the Lightbox ~ discovering diptychs, triptychs and quadcryptics. Tickets for this event are available on Eventbrite.
About the Program
Keith Prue will talk about his love affair with photography spanning 50 years. Early on he was shooting images that comprised multiple elements, frames within frames. Later, shooting in India, he was inspired to compare Western and Eastern street-scenes within a diptych format, then moved to exploring multiple color combinations and compiling slices of life in triptychs. In addition to this “lightbox driven post-production”, Keith will show some of his in-camera multiple capture images.
About the Presenter
Keith Prue’s photographs contain wit, irony and his British sense of humor, challenging us to look at fleeting moments of wonder through the simple pleasure of seeing. His subjects are predominantly people or the natural world, although he is also fascinated with urban infrastructure. Drawing on visual impact or contextual comparison, from living and working on four continents and visiting more than fifty countries, he explores and contrasts cultural nuances.
Exhibiting online and showing in group exhibitions in the USA, Italy and Mexico, his photographs are held in private collections in the USA, Mexico, Brazil, Uruguay, UK and France. Keith is an Elected Artist and former Board Member of Art League RI, and an Exhibiting Member of the RI Center for Photographic Arts.
